[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] SK ON signed a battery supply contract with Swedish electric car brand Polestar.

SK On announced on July 7 that it will supply batteries to 'Polestar 5' from 2025. The specific size and duration have not been revealed.

The Polestar 5 is a four-door grand tourer (GT) that Polestar plans to produce from 2025. It has up to 650 kilowatts (kW) of output and 900 neuron meters (nm) of torque.

The product will be produced based on the 'customized aluminum platform' developed by Polestar's UK Research and Development (R&D) Center.
