[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Naver Pay announced on the 15th that it has added overseas payment destinations in 41 countries.
After signing a payment partnership with Alipay in China in September, the company significantly expanded the number of places where payments can be made with Naver Pay from overseas through Alipayplus, Alipay's global payment network.
In Asia, in addition to China, Naver Pay money and point payments can be made without having to exchange money separately at Alipayplus franchises in six countries, including Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar.
In Europe, 33 countries, including Germany, Britain, France, Spain and Italy, were added, while the U.S. and Australia were also included in the payment list.
The 'point draw' benefits of on-site payment will also be applied to Alipayplus merchants in these countries.
It is also possible to scan the QR code dedicated to Alipay Plus payment placed at the payment place by operating the QR code scan function of Naver Pay App or Naver App.
After that, Naver Pay money and points held by users will be made without a separate exchange process, and if the amount of holding is less than the payment amount, the payment will be made after being charged by 10,000 won through a connected account.
In September, Naver Pay introduced a partnership with China's Alipay and UnionPay that allows on-site payment of Naver Pay in 47 foreign countries (excluding duplicates).
