[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The inheritance trial between LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, Koo's mother Kim Young-sik and his younger sister Koo Yeon-kyung and Yeon-soo over the legacy of the late former chairman Koo Bon-moo will resume on the 16th.
According to the business community on the 15th, the 11th Civil Affairs Department of the Seoul Western District Court (senior judge Park Tae-il) will hold the second hearing of the inheritance recovery suit filed by Mrs. Kim and others later in the day. His mother Kim and her two younger sisters filed a lawsuit against Chairman Koo Kwang-mo on Feb. 28, saying, "Let's split the inherited property again." Mrs. Kim and her two younger sisters are not Koo's biological mother and brother, and Koo Bon-moo, the former chairman, adopted Koo as an adoptee and became a legally one family.
Following the first hearing, LG President Ha Beom-jong will appear as a witness on the plaintiff's side. President Ha was in charge of the LG owner family's property management, including serving as head of LG's financial management team in 2013, and was in charge of the inheritance of the late former chairman Koo Bon-moo.
President Ha appeared in court earlier during the first hearing on the 5th of last month and testified that Koo left a note to his eldest son, Koo Kwang-mo, to hand over all his management assets. In particular, he wrote a one-page memo that summarized the contents of the A4 paper and received the signature of the former president, and confirmed it on both sides several times.
On the other hand, the three mothers and daughters, including Mrs. Kim, claim that they came to write the consultation without accurate understanding and consent. It is the first claim in five years since the inheritance. He also said he did not have enough time to review the documents submitted by Ha on the same day as they were evidence submitted on the same day. As a result, additional witness questioning of President Ha will continue on the 16th.
