[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Kim Tae-joong, vice president of Coupang's digital customer division, will leave the company nine years after joining Coupang. The reason for his resignation is unknown, as he offered to resign five months after his appointment as vice president.

According to a report Coupang submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the 20th, Vice President Kim offered to resign on the 6th. I will leave Coupang on January 19, 2024, after my term ends. No successor is mentioned in the report.

Vice President Kim was named among five executives in June, along with Coupang Chairman Kim Beom-seok, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Gerard Anand, CEO Kang Han-seung and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Harold Rogers.

Vice President Kim's digital customer experience division is a place to improve the digital usage environment so that customers can stay in Coupang for a long time. Improving apps (applications) and others are the main tasks. Before joining Coupang, he was in charge of strategy and finance at Oracle and others.

Kim joined Coupang in 2014 and served as product management director until April 2018. Until April last year, he worked as a senior director of the same team. Until April this year, he led a team in charge of improving UX (user experience) for Coupang's e-commerce business.
