On the 22nd, the Ourhome labor union issued a statement and criticized, "Former Vice Chairman Koo played no role in the company's future and growth while serving as CEO for five years from 2017 to 2021." "We forcibly terminated the contract for employees suffering from COVID-19 only to fill their personal interests and took 3 billion won from their own incentives in 2019 and 2020," he said.

"At that time, employees did not receive proper incentives, and employees who worked hard for the company despite the management deterioration caused by the COVID-19 did not receive any compensation," he said. "Chairman Koo, who made the first deficit since its foundation, even committed 6 billion won in breach of trust and embezzlement."

The union stressed, "Currently, the amount of charges for embezzlement and breach of trust is ridiculously reduced from 6 billion won to 3 billion won, and the embezzled money was obtained by workers' painstaking efforts to cut blood and flesh, not the money that the owner can take at will."

He also said, "While former Vice Chairman Koo embezzled billions of won, he took all kinds of means and measures to further exploit employees' wages, such as applying an uncomfortable personnel system to employees, reducing transportation and organizational activation costs, unpaid incentives and various allowances."

"We strongly urge the government to severely punish Koo, who appears in court on charges of embezzlement of breach of trust," he said. "We strongly urge the current management to reorganize the past wrong personnel system to suit reality and normalize the bad parts of Koo's management as soon as possible."

From July 2017 to 2021, former vice chairman Koo purchased gift certificates with company money, cashed them, and used them personally, nearly doubled his salary regardless of his management performance during the same period and pocketed more than the internal limit (embezzlement and breach of trust under the Specific Economic Crime-weighted Punishment Act). The first trial was held at the Seoul Southern District Court.

Ourhome filed a complaint with the police in November 2021 after finding out former Vice Chairman Koo's embezzlement and breach of trust in its own audit. Gangseo Police Station in Seoul sent him to the prosecution in July last year.
