Hyundai Motor and Kia Launch Porter and Bongo LPG Models

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp. have launched one-ton truck Porter and Bongo Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) vehicles side by side.
Kia announced on the 23rd that it released 'Bongo LPG Turbo' and Hyundai Motor released '2024 Porter Ⅱ' on the 22nd, a day earlier. Kia's Bongo LPG Turbo and Hyundai Motor's 2024 PorterⅡ are equipped with LPG 2.5 turbo engines. The new engine will increase its output by 24 horsepower compared to the diesel engine. As a result, the maximum output improved by 18% based on the five-speed automatic transmission and by 4% based on the six-speed manual transmission compared to the diesel car model.
The effect of reducing oil costs is about 700,000 ~ 800,000 won per year. Compared to conventional diesel cars, Porter can save 700,000 won a year and Bongo 800,000 won a year, according to the company.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's automobile registration statistics, about 1.9 million LPG vehicles were registered in Korea as of the end of last year, accounting for 7% of the total number of registered vehicles. It was 13.8% overall in 2008, but has since fallen steadily.
The price of the Bongo LPG Turbo is 19.93 million won to 22.75 million won for the 1-ton model and 24.21 million won to 25.24 million won for the 1.2-ton model. Porter 2024Ⅱ is 20.39 million won for style, 21.07 million won for smart, 21.77 million won for modern and 22.69 million won for premier.
