[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Lee Won-jin, head of Samsung Electronics' Device Experience (DX) Mobile Experience (MX) Division Service Biz Team (President) from Google, will leave Samsung.
According to the business community on the 5th, Samsung Electronics confirmed its reorganization and appointment on the same day and completed its year-end personnel reshuffle. President Lee will retire and be replaced by Vice President Kim Yong-soo, who was recently hired.
Lee, who will retire, is a former vice president of Google and was hired as head of Samsung Electronics' video display division's service business team in 2014. Vice President Kim went through Oracle and Google in the US.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is scheduled to hold a global strategic meeting next week. The global strategic meeting is a venue where major executives and heads of overseas subsidiaries gather in June and December every year to share pending issues in the business sector and region and share opinions on sales strategies. This meeting will discuss next year's business plan. The meeting will be organized by Han Jong-hee, head of DX Division (Vice Chairman) and Kyung Joo-hyun, head of DS Division (President), respectively.
