[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Uplus announced on November 11 that it will join hands with Toyota Korea to expand its electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The two companies signed a business agreement (MOU) to develop related services and install chargers.
The two companies first develop Toyota membership services for new Toyota buyers. Membership subscribers can charge LG Uplus' electric vehicle charging service up to 50,000 won for free for a month and receive various promotional benefits. Membership is available to buyers of the '5th Generation Prius Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV)' model, which is scheduled to be released in Korea this month.
The two companies also decided to install bolt-up charging stations at Toyota Korea's official dealer exhibition halls and service centers across the country. Through this, we will expand our collaboration to attract more and more new electric vehicle customers. Toyota Korea installed LG Uplus' integrated infotainment service 'Uplus Drive' in June last year.
