[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] SK Telecom lowered the dementia morbidity rate with its own artificial intelligence (AI)-based program.
The company announced on the 12th that its AI speaker-based memory training program was evaluated to be effective in lowering the morbidity rate of dementia in the elderly.
SK Telecom has conducted social performance compensation (SIB) for dementia prevention for 30 elderly people living in Buyeo-gun, Chungnam for the past two years until June this year.
According to Inje University's Ilsan Paik Hospital, a business evaluation agency, only about one out of 30 elderly people with mild cognitive impairment developed dementia during the period. The rate of dementia transfer, which is the rate confirmed as dementia in the stage of mild cognitive impairment, was 3.24%. This is a significantly lower rate considering that the annual dementia rate is about 15% in general.
