[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kakao Bank's settlement dividend was not disclosed next year. This is in contrast to other financial holding companies with banks delaying their dividend base dates one after another in line with the authorities' policies, inducing investment after checking the size of dividends.
Kakao Bank confirmed the final dividend date on the 12th as the 31st of this month. Shareholders must hold Kakao Bank shares until this day to receive dividends when dividends are confirmed. This means that even if you hold stocks by the end of the year and become eligible for dividends, you do not know how much dividends are.
While other listed stocks in the banking sector change their dividend policies by delaying the dividend base date, Kakao Bank has not. In the banking sector, Shinhan and Hana Financial Group made it official last week to postpone the base date of the settlement dividend to next year. DGB Financial Group also announced the same plan on November 11.
Since early this year, financial authorities have encouraged companies to advance their dividend procedures to boost dividend investment and resolve 'Korea Discount'. The key is to delay the dividend base date for the settlement of accounts from the time when the dividend is confirmed so that investors can check the dividend first.
