OCI invests 110.5 billion won in Malay affiliates

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] OCI announced on the 13th that it will invest 110.518 billion won in Sarawak Advanced Materials (tentative name), a Malaysian affiliate.
With this investment, OCI will hold a 50% stake. The main business of Malaysian affiliates is manufacturing, selling, storing, and distributing semiconductor, solar products and auxiliary products.
"We plan to preempt market demand by proactively responding to increasing demand for polysilicon for semiconductors due to the growth of the global semiconductor market," OCI said. "We will secure a production base through investment in a joint venture in Malaysia with cost competitiveness and production competitiveness."
