[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Apple has reportedly decided to exclude LG Innotek from its next-generation Folded Zoom Actuator supplier.
As a result, the business plans for next year of new CEO Hyuk-soo Moon, whose specialty is the optical business, are expected to be dealt a major blow.
According to Alpha Biz coverage on the 14th, Apple will replace LG Innotek from the list of next-generation folded zoom actuator suppliers to be adopted instead of the current five-fold fold zoom actuators.
An official familiar with the contract relationship between Apple and LG Innotek told Alpha Biz, "I understand that there has been a serious problem in the trust relationship between Apple and LG Innotek regarding the folded zoom actuator."
It is reported that ICT, a subsidiary of China's Luxshare Precision Industry, is expected to replace LG Innotek in supplying the next-generation folded zoom actuator.
The next-generation foldable zoom actuator is known to improve performance up to 10 times from the current five times.
Chi-ho Han, senior expert at NBNtv (Ph.D. in Public Administration), predicted, "LG Innotek, led by new CEO Hyuk-soo Moon, is expected to continue supplying 5x folded zoom actuators next year."
Dr. Han also analyzed, "As CEO Moon became CEO due to his contribution to the optical business, restoring the supplier status by restoring the relationship with Apple is expected to be one of the most important tasks next year."
