Samyang Group acquired US specialty chemical company for 330 billion won

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samyang Holdings announced on the 18th that it acquired the management rights of Verdant Specialty Solutions, a global specialty chemical material company, for 330 billion won.
Verdant, newly incorporated as an affiliate of Samyang Group, is headquartered in Texas, USA and focuses on bilateral surfactant for personal care and non-ionic surfactant business for industrial use such as oil and gas.
It has more than 1,000 customers around the world, including global personal care brands such as Unilever and Rosareal, and 300 executives and employees have more than 300 billion won in sales. As it has production bases in the U.S., Britain and Germany, it is considered a company with potential to grow steadily in developed markets.
Samyang Group acquired KCI, a small but strong Korean company, in 2017 and jumped into the personal care specialty business, and through the acquisition of Burdent, it has strengthened its related business and set the stage for full-fledged global expansion.
Samyang Group expects Verdant to greatly help create synergy and strengthen competitiveness between the two companies as it has a complementary product portfolio without overlapping with the KCI business group, which focuses on cation surfactants.
