[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Dongguk Holdings, the holding company of Dongkuk Steel Group, completed the Fair Trade Commission's review of the holding company on the 19th and switched to a holding company system.

Dongkuk Steel Group has shifted from the parallel structure of Dongguk Holdings, Dongkuk Steel Mill and Dongguk CM to a series structure under Dongguk Holdings. An official of Dongguk Holdings explained, "We changed to a holding company system to increase management efficiency and strengthen business competitiveness based on advanced governance."

Dongguk Holdings serves as the group's strategic control tower.

Dongkuk Steel Mill focuses on the steel manufacturing business of electric furnaces and steel manufacturing hot-rolled steel plates such as steel bars (rebars), steel plates, and thick steel plates.

Dongguk CM plans to upgrade its cold-rolled steel plate business, including zinc-plated steel plates and color steel plates. It will expand its color steel plate business around workplaces such as the Busan plant, the world's largest color steel plate production base, and the building solution center in Chungnam.
