[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hanwha Ocean announced on the 22nd that it has signed a contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration to build the 3600t-class submarine 'Jang Bogo Ⅲ DeploymentⅡ' No. 3. The contract amount is 1.102 trillion won.

Jangbogo Ⅲ DeploymentⅡ is a medium-sized submarine built after DeploymentⅠ Dosan Anchangho (3000t class).

The third ship will be completed by 2029 and will be piloted before being handed over to the Navy in 2031. Hanwha Ocean is under construction after winning orders for the leading ships No. 1 and No. 2 in 2021.
