[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on the 28th that it has signed a contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration to mass-produce the second Army Small Armed Helicopter (LAH) worth about 1.4 trillion won. The contract amounts to 50.4% of KAI's sales last year.
This contract includes integrated system support elements such as LAH aircraft, technical manual, and follow-up technical support. The contract period is about 60 months, and the second volume will be delivered continuously from the fourth quarter of 2025 after the initial mass production.
KAI signed the first mass production contract for LAH at the end of last year and established mass production infrastructure, and is producing with the aim of delivering at the end of next year.
