[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Fair Trade Commission has imposed a fine of 11.6 billion won on Nexon, the No. 1 game market player in Korea.
It's the largest in the industry.
Nexon has lowered the probability of a certain item with high user preference by 0%, so it cannot come out.
The FTC imposed a fine of 11.6 billion won, viewing it as a probability manipulation.
Previously, Nexon was fined about 900 million won for the same charge in 2018 Sudden Attack.
Last year, the second trial of a civil suit related to Maple Story's probability damage ruled that Nexon should pay 5% of the claim.
Starting in March, it will be mandatory to disclose information on probability-type items of online games.
