[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] SK Telecom will establish an organization dedicated to ensuring the reliability and safety of artificial intelligence (AI).

SK Telecom announced on July 7 that it will establish AI governance (decision-making system) that sets the system and pursuit value of AI technology. First of all, in order to set standards for AI governance, we plan to review related laws and systems at home and abroad and redefine AI pursuit values and establish guidelines within March this year.

SK Telecom operates a task force (TF) to create an organization dedicated to AI governance. Chung Jae-heon, who oversees ESG (environment, society, governance), legal affairs, and rental (CR), will head the TF, and electronic AI technology and service-related organizations will participate to shape their roles. It also creates an AI governance process through an advisory group of outside experts from academia and industry.
