[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Electronics, which established an electric car charger production plant in the U.S., will start charging in earnest this year.
LG Electronics recently announced that it has built an electric car charger production plant in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
According to Reuters and other foreign media, the plant can produce about 12,000 chargers annually. It is LG Electronics' first overseas production plant since it started producing electric vehicle chargers in Korea through its subsidiary HiB Charger last year.
LG Electronics plans to enter the US electric vehicle market by utilizing charger quality and maintenance capacity in the short term, and then become a 'charging solution provider' based on solutions such as control and advertising in the mid- to long-term.
