[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] According to related industries on the 16th, Kakao Mobility is investigating the route, judging that investment-related information was leaked during the acquisition of the European taxi platform 'Freenow'.
The company said it conducted the investigation using external professional organizations to protect the objectivity, fairness and employee privacy of the investigation, and will not check the contents outside the scope of the investigation such as private contents. However, Crew Union, Kakao's labor union issued a statement on Kakao's in-house bulletin board on the same day and criticized, "Mobility management has begun a personal inspection to shift the responsibility for the failure of the acquisition to employees through the ethics management office and the audit office, even though the activities of the management reform committee that put forward transparency and communication and the compliance and trust committee have begun."
"I am threatening to look into personal information unilaterally without setting a period, scope or purpose," he said. "The Freenow acquisition process was suspended by Kakao's Investment Committee procedure, but I was in a hurry to find out the situation where the article went out, and I started to treat a trusted employee like a suspect."
The union reportedly scrapped the employees' consent forms and demanded an apology from the company.
On the other hand, Kakao Mobility says there is nothing wrong with it.
"The agreement stated that it will be completely destroyed so that it is impossible to restore related data after the investigation is completed, and we also provided guidance on the purpose, purpose and scope of the agreement," the company said. "Recently, suspected information leaks have been detected, and we are also conducting a company-wide information security campaign to inform the importance of corporate information assets."
"The analysis of digital data is conducted for devices used for work only if it is deemed necessary to verify facts," he said. "This is one of the projects that the Small and Medium Business Administration supports small and medium-sized enterprises to protect corporate competitiveness."
