[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The police said on the 15th that they have applied for an arrest warrant for a former senior researcher who leaked core semiconductor technology independently developed by Samsung Electronics to China.
According to the police, a former researcher A is suspected of illegally leaking some 700 20-nano DRAM semiconductor technology processes developed independently by Samsung Electronics in 2014 to be used by Chinese company Chengdu Am for product development.
Last year, police reportedly found and investigated the process during a raid on the home of an incumbent Chengdu morning executive A.
The police are also investigating the massive outflow of semiconductor technology personnel to China.
The questioning of the suspect before his arrest will be held at the Seoul Central District Court at 10:30 a.m. on the 16th.
