[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Taeyoung Engineering & Construction, which is undergoing a workout, has been embroiled in a lawsuit with a total litigation value of KRW 87 billion, a report showed.

According to the industry on the 17th, a total of 50 lawsuits are underway for Taeyoung Construction, including a claim for defect repair, as of the end of September last year. The total litigation value is about 87 billion won.

By type, there are 24 cases of lawsuits related to defect compensation. It is followed by 12 lawsuits for damages and two claims for reimbursement and termination of sales contracts. Among them, a 13.3 billion won damage suit filed by Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province, was partially lost in the first trial.

As of the end of September last year, there were six new legal disputes. The total value of the lawsuit is 3.7 billion won.

Taeyoung Construction has also secured some funds for the lawsuit. It has accumulated 28.929 billion won worth of provisions for the defendants, whose litigation results are reasonably expected.
