[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Asiana Airlines has dropped its appeal against LSG Sky Chef Korea for a claim for in-flight meal supply.
Asiana Airlines announced on the 23rd that it has submitted an appeal to the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Affairs Agreement Department 41 (Senior Judge Chung Hoe-il) regarding the unpaid meals.
As a result, Asiana Airlines will pay LSG some 18.27 billion won, the amount decided by the first trial, and interest and litigation costs.
Asiana Airlines has been renewing its in-flight meal supply contract with LSG every five years since 2003 and changed its operator to Gate Gourmet Korea (GGK) in 2017.
In May 2018, LSG filed a compensation suit for "cancellation of an unfair contract" as well as a lawsuit to pay for the supply of unpaid in-flight meals and won some of the cases.
