[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Seoul Metropolitan Government has suspended construction company GS Engineering & Construction for one month for violating the Framework Act on the Construction Industry in connection with the collapse of an underground parking lot in Geomdan Apartment in Incheon in April last year.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 1st, GS Engineering & Construction will be suspended for one month for poor quality control. The business suspension period is from March 1 to 31.

Earlier, in August last year, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport asked the Seoul Metropolitan Government to dispose of a total of two months, including ▲unfaithful quality tests (one month) and ▲unfaithful safety inspections (one month).

The Seoul Metropolitan Government decided to suspend business for one month, believing that GS E&C, a construction company, did not faithfully conduct a quality test or inspection, causing poor construction related to the collapse of the underground parking lot. Through this disposal, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will alert people to wrong practices such as complacent quality and construction management at the site.
