EcoPro and US Cirba Solutions have signed a North American waste battery business MOU

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Ecopro announced on the 1st that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with US battery recycling company Cirba Solutions in South Carolina, USA to cooperate in battery recycling business. The two sides have decided to jointly respond to the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the expansion of electric vehicle battery supply chains.
Cirba Solutions, which Ecopro has signed an MOU with, is a company that extracts major minerals such as nickel from waste batteries.
EcoPro plans to use its U.S. network owned by Cirba Solutions to prepare a bridgehead for entering the battery recycling business in North America.
It is also expected that black mass, a powder that collects waste batteries and grinds them, will be secured through Surba Solutions.
