[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Apple is known to set the launch timing of its first foldable iPhone. The company rearranged the workforce for the development of a new foldable iPhone.
According to the Alpha Biz report, Apple finalized the launch date of the 2027 foldable iPhone. The date will be in either September or October of 2026. <Please refer to the article on December 26th, 2023. ‘Apple’s highly anticipated foldable iPhone is expected to be launched in 2026. The new model is expected to be thinner and lighter than its competitors’ models. It will have a screen with no crease’>
Apple estimates its global sales number would reach 50 million units. To accelerate the new foldable iPhone development, it executed rearrangement of personnel.
An official familiar with Apple's internal affairs told Alpha Biz, "Many of Vision Pro Team's key employees have been transferred to the new Team for faster development of foldable iPhone. If there is no major setback, the new foldable iPhone is expected to be sold in the market in September or October of 2026.”
Apple released Vision Pro, the first spatial computer, on the market earlier this month after six years of development. But many users are returning their headsets and it seems that the first generation is on the path to failure. The company declined to comment on the report, “We cannot disclose product development, release date, and workforce rearrangement.”
