[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Woori Bank is teaming up with LG Uplus to make a full-fledged entry into the MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) business. This marks the second MVNO business venture in the banking sector following KB Kookmin Bank.
On the 11th, Woori Bank announced that Woori Bank President Jo Byung-kyu and LG Uplus CEO Hwang Hyun-sik signed a business agreement for MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), also known as budget mobile phone service, at the Woori Bank headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 10th.
Under this agreement, Woori Bank and LG Uplus plan to develop differentiated financial communication products and services to attract new customers, and they will also establish a budget mobile phone system. President Jo stated, "We will contribute to the revitalization of the mobile communication market with innovative services that blur the boundaries between finance and non-finance."
