Hybe became the first Korean entertainment company to surpass 2 trillion won in sales last year

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hybe surpassed 2 trillion won in annual sales for the first time among domestic entertainment agencies.
Hybe announced on the 26th that its sales increased 22.6% year-on-year to 2.1781 trillion won last year.
Operating profit reached 295.8 billion won, up 24.9% from the previous year, hitting its own high. Net profit rose 288.5 percent to 186.6 billion won.
Looking at sales by type last year, direct participatory sales rose 51.4% to KRW 1.4715 trillion, while indirect participatory sales fell 12.1% to KRW 706.6 billion.
Hybe's music and music sales surged 75.8% to KRW 970.5 billion. As the concert market recovered after the COVID-19 pandemic, performance sales also rose 39.1% to 359.1 billion won.
However, indirect participatory sales grew back to MD (goods products) and licensing -17.7% and content -15.1% compared to the previous year.
Thanks to this, annual album sales by Hybe singers nearly doubled from a total of 22.2 million copies in 2022 to 43.6 million copies last year.
In the case of performance sales, the number of artists who held performances increased from four teams last year to seven teams last year, and the total number of performances increased from 78 to 125.
The average number of monthly users (MAU) of the fan community platform Weverse run by Hybe maintained the 10 million mark, while the number of entry artist communities stood at 122, up 72 percent from 71 a year earlier. The number of Webus live performances conducted by the artists also increased from 900 to more than 1,400.
Hybe also released a cash dividend plan to enhance shareholder value along with its earnings announcement. The dividend is 700 won per share, a total of 29.2 billion won.
