[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] EcoPro Materials is set to expand its precursor production capacity.

EcoPro Materials held a board meeting on the 28th and announced that it decided to invest 957.3 billion won to expand precursor manufacturing facilities and sulfuric acid metal smelting facilities. The investment period is until August 31, 2025.

EcoPro Materials said, "We decided to expand to meet customer demand."

EcoPro Materials currently produces 50,000 tons of precursor per year at Pohang CPM 1, plant 2. It has said it will more than quadruple its production capacity to 210,000 tons by 2027.
