[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, South Korea, May 27, 2025 — Doosan Enerbility announced today that it has signed supply contracts worth approximately ₩340 billion (USD 245 million) with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) joint ventures for two major gas-fired combined-cycle power plants under development in Saudi Arabia.
The projects—Ghazlan 2 Expansion and Hajr Power Plant—are currently being constructed approximately 400 kilometers northeast of Riyadh and are scheduled for completion by 2028. Together, the facilities will add 2,900 megawatts (MW) of power generation capacity to the region.
Under the agreements, Doosan Enerbility will supply a total of four units: two steam turbines and two generators, with capacities of 650 MW and 540 MW respectively.
Doosan Enerbility currently holds the top global market share in large-capacity steam turbines used in combined-cycle power plants. Over the past five years, the company has secured orders totaling 7.3 gigawatts (GW), accounting for 33.1% of the 22.1 GW of steam turbine demand worldwide.
This latest contract adds to Doosan's growing presence in Saudi Arabia, where the company has secured agreements to supply a total of nine steam turbines since last year alone.
