[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, April 10, 2026 — Hyundai Motor Company’s U.S. unit will recall approximately 294,000 vehicles due to a defect in seat belt anchoring components, the company said.
Affected models include the Ioniq 6, Genesis G90, Santa Fe, and Santa Fe Hybrid. The recall is being conducted in the United States as a voluntary corrective action.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warned that if the seat belt anchoring mechanism becomes detached, it may fail to properly restrain occupants, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Authorities said Hyundai service centers will inspect the affected components and reinforce or replace them if necessary.
Separately, Hyundai Motor plans to implement a similar recall in South Korea after filing with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport next week. The domestic recall is expected to cover approximately 300,000 vehicles.
