[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Starting in November, SK Innovation executives will be required to work every Saturday as part of a new "Connecting Day" initiative aimed at strengthening internal collaboration and communication to boost competitiveness. This initiative, exclusively for executives and not general employees, will focus on fostering interdepartmental cooperation and continuous learning.
The Connecting Day is not a shift to a full six-day workweek but a special program designed to provide executives with a platform for workshops, expert lectures, and collaborative projects. Notably, SK On and SK E&S, which will soon merge with SK Innovation, are exempt from this program due to their existing emergency management operations.
The move follows SK Innovation's recent executive reshuffle on October 24, where CEOs were replaced in three major subsidiaries—SK Energy, SK Geo Centric, and SK IE Technology (SKIET)—ahead of the SK E&S merger scheduled for November 1.
