[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] KOSDAQ-listed Seoul Semiconductor said it is supplying Wireless optical semiconductor "WICOP" products to Hyundai Motor Group's Genesis Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) "GV80" headlamp. WICOP technology was used to implement all the features of the headlamp introduced by GV80.
The two lines of High beam and Low beam, which are symbols of GV80, are equipped with Seoul Semiconductor's new technology "WICOP UHL" high-brightness products. 'WICOP UHL' is a solution optimized for slim lamp design by improving luminance by 200% compared to YCOP products currently being mass-produced. In addition, YCOP was applied to all front light functions such as GV80's daytime light (DRL) and directional light (Turn signal).
The WICOP UHL, which is applied to the Genesis MLA (Mirco Lens Array) headlamp, is based on the ultra-small, high-efficiency LED technology YCOP and is optimized for automotive applications. Its heat-resistant performance is 40% better than that of ordinary products, which can reduce the heat-resistant structure of headlamps by up to 75%. Therefore, it is possible to reduce size and weight, which are important elements of lamp design, and to implement slim and sophisticated design.
