[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Conflicts between Samsung Electronics and the National Samsung Electronics Labor Union are expected to intensify. Jeonsamno immediately opposed the average wage increase of 5.1% announced by Samsung Electronics. Jeon Sam-no intends to meet with President Kyung Joo-hyun in the future and even consider a strike if the dialogue breaks down.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 29th on its in-house bulletin board that it has decided to raise the average wage this year to 5.1% after discussing wage adjustment with the labor-management council. The average wage increase rate is the growth rate of the total annual salary resources paid to all employees. This year, the basic increase rate of 3.0% was reflected in the increase rate of 2.1% by individual performance, and employees who received the top evaluation will receive a wage increase of more than 7%.
However, the National Samsung Electronics Labor Union is protesting that such a wage increase plan is a unilateral decision by the management. In the meantime, the union offered a 6.5% wage increase and the addition of one day of paid leave, but Samsung Electronics decided to raise the wage by 5.1%, use the spouse's maternity leave three times, expand infertility leave by one day, and add long-term leave by 10 days.
Samsung Electronics' largest labor union, Jeon Sam-no, said in a YouTube broadcast later in the day that it would consider a strike.
