[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Energy Solution has secured a large-scale battery supply contract with Ford, worth an estimated 13 trillion won, marking its largest order of the year. Under this deal, LG Energy Solution will supply 109 GWh of batteries for Ford's electric commercial vehicles through 2032.
Announced on October 15, the long-term agreement involves the supply of battery cells and modules produced entirely at LG’s plant in Wrocław, Poland. The company will deliver 75 GWh of batteries from 2027 to 2032, and an additional 34 GWh from 2026 to 2030.
This deal also includes supply volumes from a previously planned joint venture in Turkey that has now been adjusted to source from LG’s existing facilities. The batteries, expected to be high-performance NCM pouch types, will power Ford's next-generation electric commercial vehicle, the E-Transit.
