[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Motor announced on the 1st that it sold 369,132 new cars in the global market in March, down 3.7% from a year earlier.
Hyundai Motor sold a total of 62,504 units in the domestic market last month. It decreased by 16.1% compared to the same month last year. Overseas markets sold 306,628 units, down 0.7% from the same month last year.
In the domestic market, 21,979 RVs (leisure-type vehicles) and 15,302 sedans were sold, respectively.
Among RVs, Santa Fe topped the list after last month with 7,884 units. Tucson (3524), Casper (3442), Kona (2747), and Palisade (1974).
The sedans were sold in the order of 6,100 Grandeurs, 4,188 Avantes and 4,078 Sonatas.
In addition, 8,032 Porter and 3,123 Staria were sold, and a total of 2,229 medium and large buses and trucks were sold.
A total of 11,839 units of the premium brand Genesis were sold in the domestic market in March. Sales by model are 5,298 units for G80, GV80 4304, and GV70 1243.
