According to industry sources on the 30th, the Basic Materials Division of Lotte Chemical will start implementing emergency management measures from the 1st of next month, including a 20% reduction in domestic and international travel budgets. According to Lotte Chemical, domestic and international business trips will be replaced with video conferences wherever possible, and the number of accompanying personnel will be limited to a maximum of two. This aims to reduce the travel budget by 20% compared to the previous year.

The grade of air tickets for executives will be downgraded for flights under 10 hours. Focused work hours will be implemented from 10 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 4 PM, during which smoking and the use of messengers for non-work purposes will be discouraged. Lotte Chemical recorded an operating loss of 762.6 billion KRW in 2022, followed by losses of 347.7 billion KRW last year and 135.2 billion KRW in the first quarter of this year.
