[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Namyang Dairy Products announced on Wednesday that three individuals—Lee Woon-kyung, former advisor and wife of former chairman Hong Won-sik, along with their two sons, former executives Hong Jin-seok and Hong Beom-seok—have been additionally indicted on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (breach of trust).
The alleged amount involved in their charges is approximately 3.7 billion won. This brings the total amount tied to embezzlement and breach of trust cases involving former chairman Hong and related individuals to 25.6 billion won.
Namyang Dairy stated, "The company views this matter with utmost seriousness and plans to cooperate fully with the legal process. We will work to strengthen internal management transparency and implement measures to prevent recurrence, striving to become a responsible company under a new management system."
Meanwhile, private equity fund Hahn & Company (Hahn & Co.) took over Namyang Dairy’s management rights last January following a Supreme Court ruling. Although former chairman Hong has stepped away from Namyang Dairy’s management, legal disputes with him continue.
