[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] NCSoft has filed a legal complaint against a YouTuber for allegedly spreading false information about its game Lineage Classic.
On April 7, NCSoft announced that it submitted a complaint to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against the operator of the YouTube channel “영래기” (Youngraeggi), on charges including defamation and obstruction of business.
According to the company, the YouTuber claimed in broadcasts that Lineage Classic’s management tolerated users of illegal automation programs (“bots”) while unjustly penalizing legitimate users who reported such activities.
NCSoft stated that, following internal data analysis and reviews by both internal and external experts, the allegations were determined to be false. The company emphasized that the spread of unverified claims has caused significant harm to both its operations and user trust.
NCSoft added that such misinformation undermines confidence in its anti-cheating reporting system and discourages player participation in maintaining a fair gaming environment.
Since launch, Lineage Classic has taken strict enforcement actions, sanctioning approximately 5.97 million accounts across 105 measures targeting fraudulent activity. The company noted that it has consistently disclosed these actions through official notices to ensure transparency.
While reaffirming its commitment to listening to constructive user feedback, NCSoft stated it will adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward the dissemination of false information and malicious conduct.
