[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Domestic chicken franchise BBQ will delay the price hike of some products, including Golden Olive Chicken Fried, to the end of this month.

Genesis BBQ announced on the 22nd that it will postpone the implementation of some chicken price hikes for eight days from the 23rd to the 31st.

"There was a consumer response that the price increase was tight after the announcement, and we postponed the timing considering that May is a family month," a BBQ official said. "I hope it will help stabilize prices."

BBQ said the previous day it would raise consumer recommended selling prices by an average of 6.3 percent for 23 of its 110 products. BBQ's price increase is the first in about two years since May 2022.

The representative product 'Golden Olive Chicken Fried' will be changed from 20,000 won to 23,000 won, and 'Jamaica Whole Leg Roast' will be changed from 21,500 won to 24,000 won.
