[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has regained his position as the world’s richest person in Forbes’ annual billionaire ranking for 2025.

According to Forbes’ announcement on Wednesday (local time), Musk's fortune surged by $147 billion from the previous year, reaching a total of $342 billion (approximately 500 trillion KRW), securing him the top spot among global billionaires.

Despite a significant correction in Tesla's stock price earlier this year, it remains up over 60% compared to a year ago. Additionally, the rising valuation of his privately held companies, including space venture SpaceX, contributed to his wealth increase.

Musk previously held the No. 1 position in Forbes' billionaire ranking in 2022 but was overtaken by Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH, in 2023 and 2024, dropping to second place.

This year, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, ranked second, followed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in third.

Bernard Arnault, last year's No. 1, fell to fifth place, trailing Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison, who secured the fourth spot.
