[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, South Korea – July 19, 2025 — Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced a revised operational plan for southern railway services as of 11:38 a.m. on Friday, citing continued heavy rainfall in the region.
Under the revised plan, all conventional trains on the Gyeongbu Line between Dongdaegu and Busan and on the Gyeongjeon Line between Dongdaegu and Jinju will be fully suspended. However, KTX high-speed rail services on the Seoul–Busan Gyeongbu Line will continue to operate as scheduled.
Initially, KORAIL had planned to resume full operations on several lines—including the Gyeongbu, Jeolla, Janghang, Seohae, and Chungbuk Lines—starting from 10:00 a.m. the same day. The plan was retracted just an hour later due to ongoing adverse weather conditions in the southern region.
A KORAIL spokesperson stated, “Train operations may be suspended or delayed depending on weather conditions. We strongly advise passengers to check real-time service updates through the KorailTalk mobile app or the official website before boarding.”
