Jeju Air Faces 68,000 Ticket Cancellations Following Muan Airport Tragedy

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Following the tragic Jeju Air aircraft accident at Muan International Airport in Muan County, Jeollanam-do, mass cancellations of Jeju Air tickets were reported within 24 hours.

According to Jeju Air on Monday, approximately 68,000 tickets were canceled between midnight on the 29th and 1 p.m. the following day. Of these, around 33,000 were domestic flights, and 34,000 were international flights.

Although cancellations began early Sunday morning, most occurred after 9 a.m., following the accident at Muan Airport, according to the airline.

The aircraft involved in the accident was reportedly operating as a chartered flight for a Christmas package tour organized by a small travel agency. Consequently, cancellations of package travel products have also been reported.
