[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The government will strengthen compensation for emergency medical institutions and emergency room medical staff to minimize medical gaps caused by group action by doctors.

If new employees are hired at higher general hospitals and public medical institutions this month, doctors will receive up to 18 million won a month and nurses will receive up to 4 million won a month. In addition, doctors at 27 senior general hospitals are paid up to 450,000 won per day on weekdays, up to 900,000 won on holidays, and up to 150,000 won per day to dedicated (PA) nurses.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare said Second Vice Minister Park Min-soo met with specialists working at the emergency medical site on the 12th to listen to difficulties and discuss ways to improve them.

In a related move, the government recently announced "emergency care measures" and "health insurance support measures" to minimize the medical gap caused by collective action in the medical community, and decided to invest 128.5 billion won in reserve funds and 188.2 billion won in health insurance finances.
