[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] For the first time since its opening, Incheon International Airport has been ranked among the top three airports worldwide in terms of international passenger traffic.

On Sunday, the Incheon International Airport Corporation announced that the airport recorded 70,669,246 international passengers in 2024, placing it third globally according to the Airports Council International (ACI). This marks a historic milestone since the airport began operations in 2001.

In addition to passenger traffic, Incheon also achieved a record in international cargo volume. The airport handled 2,906,067 tons of international cargo last year, a 7.4% increase from 2,706,943 tons in 2023, placing it third worldwide after Hong Kong and Shanghai.

These achievements follow the completion of Incheon Airport’s Phase 4 Grand Opening in 2023, which expanded its infrastructure to accommodate up to 106 million international passengers annually. With top-three rankings in both passenger and cargo traffic, Incheon has firmly established itself as a global aviation hub.
