[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] The Fair Trade Commission has launched an on-site investigation into game company Wemade, which is suspected of notifying the probability of items differently.

According to the industry on the 18th, the Fair Trade Commission launched an investigation at Wemade headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and secured data on the probability of Night Crow's items.

Night Crow is a multi-access role-playing game (MMORPG) released by Wemade in Korea in April last year.

Wemade updated changes in information on stochastic items ahead of the implementation of a revision to the Game Industry Act, which calls for mandatory disclosure of information on stochastic items, but the updated probability was controversial as a number of items were found to be different from those previously announced.

NightCrow corrected the probability of a high-value item from 0.0198% to 0.01% and 0.1% to 0.32%, while the probability of a low-value item was changed from 91.9802% to 95.7%. Depending on the value, the probability of the item was different from the announcement.

In response, users filed a related complaint with the Fair Trade Commission, claiming that probability manipulation is suspected.
