[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] On the 10th, the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) carried out an extensive reshuffle, replacing 74 out of 75 department heads. This marks a bold move in the leadership structure, with over half of the new appointments being promoted to higher positions such as department heads (National Directors and Division Heads). The reshuffle reflects FSS Governor Lee Bok-hyun's focus on performance-based promotions and generational changes within the organization.

Among the newly appointed leaders, the majority (36 out of 74) were promoted, while only one, Lee Jin, the Financial Market Stability Division Head, was reassigned. The promotion scope also widened, with individuals from the first to fourth batches of the FSS's integrated public recruitment being promoted, and even the fifth batch producing department heads such as Jang Young-shim, Head of the Accounting Supervision 2 Division, and Choi Jeong-hwan, Head of the Legal Division.

Notably, the reshuffle has also ushered in a new generation of leadership, with department heads born in the early 1970s. For instance, a 1977-born department head, Kim Seo-mo, was appointed as the head of the Dispute Resolution 3 Division. The older generation of department heads, born in the 1970s, are reported to have stepped down.

In a significant move toward gender equality, this reshuffle saw the appointment of several women to key leadership roles. For example, Kim Eun-sun, previously the Head of Credit Finance Supervision, was moved to head the Accounting Supervision Division, and Jeong Eun-jeong, who previously served as the Legal Affairs Division Head, was appointed to lead the Banking Inspection 3 Division. Additionally, for the first time, a female head, Im Jan-di, was appointed as the Head of the Secretary Team, previously managed by the Secretary's Office.
