[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, August 5, 2025 — Ourhome, recently incorporated into Hanwha Group, is reportedly in discussions to acquire the institutional catering business of Shinsegae Food, according to sources in the investment banking (IB) industry.

Shinsegae Food is said to be in talks with Ourhome to sell off assets related to its group catering division, in a move to restructure its business portfolio.

In a regulatory filing on August 5, Shinsegae Food stated, “We are currently reviewing various strategic options, including business restructuring and partnership opportunities, to enhance our competitiveness,” while clarifying that “no final decision has been made at this time.”

Shinsegae Food is known to be the fifth-largest player in South Korea’s institutional catering market. The company’s catering operations fall under its Manufacturing & Service segment, which accounted for 38% of its KRW 353.7 billion in Q1 revenue. This segment also includes its restaurant brand No Brand Burger and bakery operations.

Earlier in May, Hanwha Group officially acquired Ourhome through its affiliate Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, marking its entry into the food service industry. The potential acquisition of Shinsegae Food’s catering unit could further expand Ourhome’s market footprint.
