[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Nongshim Group Chairman Shin Dong-won said on the 22nd that he has no plans to raise ramen prices this year. Shin also said he is considering expanding the U.S. plant and expanding domestic production facilities to increase ramen production.

Asked if he plans to cut the price of ramen when prices of flour and palm oil are stabilizing, Chairman Shin replied, "I will review it, but it is not easy to adjust the price of ramen with just one item of flour."

"We have no choice but to make a decision considering various variables at a time when various environments are unstable," Chairman Shin said. "We have no intention of raising the price of ramen this year."

"We are considering a third plant in the U.S., but we plan to take time to review construction costs, including the price of land in the U.S. and labor costs," Chairman Shin said. "I think we should set up a sales corporation in Europe because exports are good."
