[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] Handsome announced on the 7th that it recorded sales of 393.6 billion won and an operating profit of 32.5 billion won in the first quarter of this year.
Compared to the same period last year, sales decreased by 3%, and operating profit decreased by 40.2%.
A representative from Handsome explained, "The fashion market for mid-priced goods has contracted due to the prolonged impact of high inflation and high interest rates, resulting in a slight decrease in sales."
They also stated, "Operating profit decreased due to increased initial investment costs associated with launching new brands and entering global markets."
Handsome plans to open flagship stores for its own brand system in France in June.
